For nearly two decades, Agropecuaria Financiera has financed Mexico’s productive agricultural economy.
Founded in 2005, the Mexican SOFOM has become a leading lender to the sugarcane value chain while also financing agricultural, agro-industrial, and livestock projects. Through offices across several of Mexico’s major agricultural regions and a network of parafinancieras, its team stays close to the producers and businesses it finances.
The relationship started in the field
Agropecuaria Financiera was one of the first lenders to work with Rizal, then Fastfarm.
The initial use case was straightforward: use satellite data to monitor financed crops and give the credit team better visibility into what was happening in the field.
But underwriting an agricultural loan requires much more than understanding a crop. It also means reviewing documents, validating information, understanding the borrower and the operation, identifying inconsistencies, and assembling everything the credit team needs to make a decision.
That became the next problem we tackled together.

From monitoring crops to reviewing credit files
Agropecuaria Financiera became the first Rizal customer to extensively test our AI agents for credit-file review.
Instead of asking a credit team to manually work through every document, Rizal’s agents can help process the information, organize the file, and surface what requires human attention.
For Agropecuaria Financiera, that has turned Rizal from a satellite-monitoring tool into a broader partner across the credit process.
“Rizal (formerly Fastfarm) has become much more than a satellite crop-monitoring platform for us: today it’s a strategic ally that helps us analyze our clients’ credit risk and strengthen our credit processes end to end—their AI tools save us a ton of time processing documents. The best is yet to come working with them.”
Building the underwriting team around the lender
The goal is not to replace the lender’s judgment. It is to give the lender more leverage.
Rizal’s agents can take on more of the investigative work around a loan—from processing documents to analyzing information and connecting the credit file with what is happening in the real world—so the lender’s team can spend more time on exceptions, judgment, and decisions.
For Agropecuaria Financiera, the relationship has already moved from monitoring financed crops to strengthening the credit process itself.
And we are only getting started.
