Working with FIRA to make sustainable agriculture easier to finance

Rizal is pleased to work with FIRA as part of Sustenta+, a program that connects sustainable agricultural practices with the financing and incentives needed to put them into practice.

Sustainability in agriculture is not only a technical challenge. It is also a financing and implementation challenge.

Producers need practical ways to adopt bioinputs and use chemical fertilizer more efficiently. The institutions that serve them need structures that make the transition financially viable. And everyone involved needs reliable evidence of what is happening in each parcel throughout the agricultural cycle.

Sustenta+ brings those pieces together

The FIRA program operates through participating parafinancieras, financial institutions, and companies that work with small producers and promote the use of bioinputs. Subject to the program’s eligibility requirements and rules, its incentives include biofertilizers for participating producers through Monedero Bioinsumos, interest-rate reimbursements for sustainable agriculture credits, and access to FONAGA guarantees for qualifying credits.

At the program’s recent presentation in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, FIRA brought together producers, agricultural organizations, parafinancieras, bioinput providers, and public authorities around a shared goal: improving agricultural productivity while protecting soils and reducing unnecessary input costs.

We are pleased to contribute to this effort through satellite monitoring and digital evidence. Rizal helps participating institutions build a clearer record of what is happening in each parcel over the course of the cycle, making it easier to follow implementation, identify exceptions, and document progress.

This is the kind of collaboration required to make sustainable agriculture scale: FIRA designs incentives and financing mechanisms; producers and participating institutions put them into practice; and technology helps make implementation more visible and manageable.

We are proud to work with FIRA on Sustenta+ and to help build the infrastructure for agricultural finance that is both more productive and more sustainable.
